North-east dancer Rebecca wins Highland dancing world championship - Evening Express

North-east dancer Rebecca wins Highland dancing world championship - Evening Express:

Rebecca Thow, from Belhevie, scooped the Adult World Championship title at the Cowal Highland Gathering in the west of Scotland, where some of the best dancers from around the globe gathered.
It was Rebecca’s 15th year competing in the Highland gathering.
Rebecca said the experience was “very surreal”.
She said: “It is the ultimate goal I have been working towards for many years. My parents are really proud – they have supported me since day one.”
The 24-year-old has been Highland dancing since she was two, and has won more than a hundred championship titles.
Rebecca was runner-up in the championship for the last three years and was delighted to finally land the big trophy at the weekend.
